Effect: The Pelham is a good compromise between the bit and the bridle. It offers a lever effect that can vary in strength depending on the length of the branches, the adjustment of the curb chain, and its setup. It causes a lowering of the neck as well as pressure on the jaws.

Usage advice: The special feature of this bit is the position of its rings, which gives it much more action than a standard Pelham. Additionally, the straight and thin mouthpiece allows for even greater control. All Pelhams can be used directly, with four reins or with additional attachments. Similarly, the action of the curb chain can be softened with other types of curb chains such as leather or nylon.
