Pelham for Horse Small Branches Double Jointed Discover the Pelham Jump'In, the ideal bit for optimal comfort and better control during your equestrian exercises.
Composition: Blue Steel and rings made of 100% copper. The Blue Steel alloy that covers this range of bits Jump'In is made up of 54% carbon and 46% manganese.
Effect: The Pelham is a good compromise between the bridle and the snaffle. It offers varying degrees of leverage depending on the length of the shanks, the adjustment of the curb chain, and how it’s set up. It causes a release in the neck and applies pressure to the jaw. The larger the shanks, the more pronounced the action of the bit will be. The double-jointed mouthpiece makes this bit more comfortable in the mouth by relieving discomfort in the palate, and the rings on the central joint help the horse to relax during work. Blue Steel bits oxidise when exposed to air and moisture, forming a fine layer of rust with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates saliva production. As the horse produces more saliva, it makes better contact with the bit. In this oxidation process, the colour will change to grey/brown.
Usage Advice: All Pelhams can be used directly, with four reins, or with bits and pieces. Additionally, the curb action can be softened with other types of curb chains such as leather or nylon. Its slightly thinner mouthpiece compared to a standard one will allow for more finesse in achieving the desired effect. The rings can help the horse be more focused while working and working better with its bit.
Care Advice: Rinse the bit thoroughly after each use to reduce residue build-up and prevent discomfort for your horse.
