Effect: This bit has an action that intensifies depending on the rein position, allowing for 3 different combinations: lateral framing, leverage effect, and uplift effect. The double joint helps avoid pressure on the palate. It can be used in many configurations and provides a bit with a slight action. The double jointed design makes this bit more comfortable in the mouth by relieving discomfort in the palate area. The Blue Steel bits oxidise when exposed to air and moisture, resulting in a fine layer of sweet-tasting rust that naturally stimulates saliva production. As the horse salivates more, it makes better contact with the bit. In this oxidation process, the colour changes to grey/brown.
