Neck protector to complement the "Island" outdoor rug for Icelandic horses
The "Island" neck protector has an ideal shape and keeps the horse's neck pleasantly warm thanks to its 50-gram wadding lining. Like the outer blanket, the neck cover is wind and waterproof and breathable (water column 4000 mm, breathability 3000 g/m2). To prevent slipping, the neck section has two Velcro fasteners on the side and two autres on the underside of the neck. The matching neck cover is available under item no. 46310.

Use
A neck cover is used during the coldest seasons, when not only the body but also the neck of the horse needs to be protected from cold and damp. This is especially the case for shorn horses. A horse's neck is very sensitive and needs to be protected from cold and damp in the same way as the rest of the body. In the event of rain, a neck cover prevents water from penetrating the blanket at the neck.
