Optimize your cutting with wire saw handles Kamer, perfect for livestock. Compatible with EXTRA and SUEDOIS saws.
For use with EXTRA wire saw, ref 103 311, or SUEDOIS wire saw, ref 103 310. Non-slip grooves. Supplied in pairs.
Advice on use:
Before any intervention on the animal, remember to anaesthetize it locally and tranquilize it. Place a tourniquet at the base of the horns, using a rubber band or taut string, to block blood flow to the horn bone and prevent bleeding.
Hook one end of the wire to each handle, take a handle in each hand and begin to gently nick the horn. This will preventelle from slipping later.
Precautions:
Caution: If the cut is close to the base (less than 4cm), the sinus is opened. To avoid infection and facilitate healing, apply a pad of collodion-soaked bandage. If it is more than 4cm, the remaining horn is generally full and does not present any risk of infection.
Do not work on cows and heifers during the 2 months preceding calving.
Do not dehorn in summer, as insects could get into the sinuses.
Do not work if there is a risk of frost or very cold wind. This could lead to sinusitis in the 2 months following trimming.
