Sport Series throttle tubes

The Sport Series throttle tubes RFX are replacement parts that match the originals but come at a much lower cost. They are made from a nylon fabric coated with Teflon, ensuring smooth operation.

Installation instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, carefully removing the old throttle tube without damaging the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if needed.
• Check that the cables and housing are not overly damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them, or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube turned on the handlebars; if there is a ridge, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short period).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable slack to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to its maximum position to check the throttle's proper operation and the correct routing of the cable; some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special handle glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special handle glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply the grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
