Sport Series throttle tubes

The Sport Series throttle tubes RFX are replacement parts that are identical to genuine ones but at a much lower cost. They are made from a nylon fabric coated with Teflon, ensuring a smooth action.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, remove the old throttle tube being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing aren't too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them, or replace them if necessary.
• Clean the handlebar and check for damage where the old throttle tube has rotated on the handlebar; if a burr is present, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short period).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Secure the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable slack to your preference.
• Turn the handlebar to its maximum position to check the throttle operation and cable routing; some cable re-adjustment may be needed.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the hole at the end of the grip with electrical tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle tube) and apply a small amount of glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip to the correct position and allow it to dry.
• Apply the grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• Once the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
