Sport Series Throttle Tube

The RFX sport series throttle tubes are replacement parts identical to authentic ones, but at a much lower cost. They are made from a nylon fabric coated with Teflon, ensuring smooth operation.

• Uses the same cam profile as the original part for good throttle control.
• The nylon fabric coated with Teflon provides smooth action.
• Won't mark handlebars like aluminium tubes.
• Open-end design for use with aluminium hand guards if needed.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber cover down and remove the throttle housing, taking care not to damage the throttle cables as you remove the old throttle tube.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing aren't too damaged or worn, clean them and lubricate or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube rotated on the handlebars; if there's a sharp edge, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable slack to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to the maximum position to check the proper functioning of the throttle and the correct routing of the cable; some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber cover over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
• Apply the grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• Once the glue has dried, check the functioning of the throttle again.
