Pro Series Throttle Sleeves

The RFX Pro Series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminium and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve to operate the throttle effortlessly. The RFX Pro Series tubes withstand damage in a collision, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and dismantle the throttle housing, removing the old throttle tube while being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn; clean and lubricate them or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube has turned on the handlebars; if there are any rough edges, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and can make the throttle stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing into the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable play to your preference.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the proper operation of the throttle and the correct routing of the cable; some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with electrical tape (to prevent the glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Turn the grip into the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply brake wire for grips RFX if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
