Pro Series Throttle Sleeve

The RFX Pro Series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminum and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for smooth throttle operation. The RFX Pro Series tubes are resistant to damage in case of a crash, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, like STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and dismantle the throttle housing, remove the old throttle tube taking care not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube has rotated on the bars; if there is a burr, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Secure the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable play to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the correct operation of the throttle and cable routing, some cable re-adjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the end of the grip hole with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the inside of the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip to the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply brake wire for grips RFX if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check again that the throttle is working correctly.
