Pro Series Throttle Sleeve

The throttle tubes RFX Pro Series are machined from billet aluminium and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle actuation. The RFX Pro Series tubes withstand damage in case of a crash, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many race teams and top-level riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber cover down and remove the throttle housing, taking care to avoid damaging the throttle cables as you remove the old throttle tube.
• Carefully remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn; clean and lubricate them, or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube rotated on the handlebars; if there is any damage, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and can cause the throttle to stick after a short period).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Secure the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable slack to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the throttle operation and cable routing; some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber cover back over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from getting into the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Twist the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
• Apply the grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• Once the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
