Pro Series Throttle Tubes

The RFX Pro series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminium and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are resistant to damage from collisions, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top-level riders in British championships, like STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and dismantle the throttle housing, removing the old throttle tube carefully to avoid damaging the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them, or replace them if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for any damage where the old throttle tube turned on the handlebars; if there's any roughness, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and can make the throttle stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable slack to your preference.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the throttle operation and cable routing, some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer diameter of the throttle tube.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply the grip wire if necessary for RFX grips.
• Once the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
