Pro Series Throttle Sleeves

The RFX Pro series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminium and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are resilient to damage in the event of a collision, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide down the rubber sleeve and disassemble the throttle housing, removing the old throttle tube while being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebar and check that it is not damaged where the old throttle tube has rotated on the handlebar; if a burr is present, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short time).
• Reconnect the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable play as desired.
• Turn the handlebar to its maximum position to check the proper functioning of the throttle and the correct routing of the cable; some cable readjustment may be needed.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the end of the grip opening with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue to the outer end of the throttle tube on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Twist the grip into the correct position and allow it to dry.
• Apply the brake wire for RFX grips if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the proper functioning of the throttle once again.
