Pro Series Throttle Sleeves

The RFX Pro series throttle tubes are machined from aluminium billets and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are resistant to damage in the event of a collision, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top-level riders in British championships, like STR KTM.

Fitting Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and remove the throttle housing, taking care to avoid damaging the throttle cables when removing the old throttle tube.
• Carefully detach the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace if needed.
• Clean the handlebar and check for damage where the old throttle tube rotated; if there is a burr, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and will cause the throttle to stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing into the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable play to your liking.
• Turn the handlebar to its maximum position to check the throttle's proper operation and the correct routing of the cable; some re-adjustment of the cable may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
• Apply RFX grip safety wire if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the proper functioning of the throttle again.
