Pro Series Throttle Sleeve

The RFX Pro Series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminium and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for effortless throttle operation. The RFX Pro Series tubes are more resistant to damage in case of collisions, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top-level riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, removing the old throttle tube while being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if needed.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebars and check for damage where the old throttle tube rotated on the handlebars; if there is any burr, replace the handlebars.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebars and lubricate it using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and makes the throttle sticky after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing into the correct position on the handlebars.
• Adjust the cable play to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to its maximum position to check the throttle's proper functionality and the correct routing of the cable, some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulation tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, over the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply RFX grip safety wire if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the throttle's proper functionality again.
