The RFX Pro series throttle tubes are machined from solid aluminum and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for smooth throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are resistant to damage during collisions, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top-level riders in British championships, such as STR KTM.

Fitting Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, remove the old throttle tube while being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Carefully remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace them if necessary.
• Clean the handlebar and check that it is not damaged where the old throttle tube has rotated on the handlebar; if there is a burr, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using penetrating lubricant.
• Secure the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable play to your liking.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the throttle operates correctly and the cable routing is correct, some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening at the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer end of the throttle tube, on the outer diameter.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
• Apply grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• Once the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
