The RFX Pro series throttle tubes are machined from billet aluminium and come with a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for smooth throttle operation. The RFX Pro series tubes are more resistant to damage in the event of a crash, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, like STR KTM.

Installation instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and remove the throttle housing, take out the old throttle tube being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if needed.
• Check that the cables and housing aren't too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace them if necessary.
• Clean the handlebar and check that it isn’t damaged where the old throttle tube has rotated on the handlebar; if there is a burr, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and makes the throttle stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable play to your preference.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the throttle's proper functioning and cable routing; some cable readjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the opening of the grip end with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue to the outer diameter of the throttle tube.
• Apply a small amount of RFX special grip glue inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Rotate the grip into the correct position and let it dry.
• Apply throttle grip safety wire RFX if necessary.
• Once the glue has dried, check the throttle's proper functioning again.
