Athena Forged motorcycle piston Arctic Cat 400 Dvx 2WD

Athena, a leader in the production of spare parts for motorcycles for over 40 years, unveils its new range of 4-stroke off-road forged pistons made through backward extrusion. Made using state-of-the-art CNC machining tools, which ensure dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm, the Athena pistons are produced from a special high-performance aluminium alloy with a high silicon content that ensures the same reliability as the original piston while offering greater strength and excellent performance. The perfectly smooth profile guarantees smooth flow and perfect flame propagation.
The skirts of some pistons are additionally treated with a molybdenum disulphide coating applied via screen printing that further reduces friction to improve performance and durability.
The engineers at Athena ensure advanced technical solutions and the highest quality standards, equal to or exceeding those adopted in OEM production, in order to guarantee performance and reliability.
Each piston, designed in Italy by the R&D department of Athena, is tested on engine dynamometers under progressive stress loads, and then on track to validate its performance even in the most extreme conditions.
