The throttle tubes RFX Pro Series are machined from aluminium billets and feature a sealed bearing and a Teflon sleeve for smooth throttle operation. The RFX Pro Series tubes are damage-resistant in case of a collision, unlike standard plastic tubes. For these reasons, they are used by many racing teams and top riders in British championships, like STR KTM.

Installation Instructions

• Slide the rubber sleeve down and disassemble the throttle housing, remove the old throttle tube being careful not to damage the throttle cables.
• Gently remove the grip from the old throttle tube if necessary.
• Check that the cables and housing are not too damaged or worn, clean and lubricate them or replace if necessary.
• Clean the handlebar and check that it is not damaged where the old throttle tube has twisted on the handlebar; if there is a burr, replace the handlebar.
• Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as it attracts dirt and makes the throttle stick after a short time).
• Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a penetrating lubricant.
• Tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar.
• Adjust the cable play to your preference.
• Turn the handlebars to their maximum position to check the proper operation of the throttle and the correct routing of the cable, some cable adjustment may be necessary.
• Slide the rubber sleeve over the housing.
• Cover the end hole of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle barrel) and apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX to the outer diameter of the throttle tube.
• Apply a small amount of special grip glue RFX inside the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
• Twist the grip into the correct position and allow to dry.
• Apply the grip locking wire for grips RFX if necessary.
• After the glue has dried, check the throttle operation again.
