The Chifney bit is a thin metal ring to be attached to a horse's head. The curved mouthpiece is placed inside the horse's mouth and the lower ring under the horse's chin. The Chifney helps lead strong, lively horses by applying pressure to the tongue and bars of the horse's mouth. For safety reasons, the lead rope must always be attached to both the lower ring of the bit and the ring of the collar. This bit is not intended to be ridden.
