A lunge rope can be used during liberty training, groundwork, and eventually for riding. It is important to handle the lunge rope consciously and to attach it correctly. Seek advice from an experienced instructor if you have never been trained with a lunge rope. Never leave a lunge rope in the stable, pasture, or paddock, and never tie your horse with it, as a lunge rope does not wear out and will not break under pressure.
