Emerging from a collaboration between the Polynesian Voyaging Society and our Forge Advanced R&D design team, the ski jacket Patagonia Big Water Foul Weather is designed for open sea journeys. Combining total storm protection, unrestricted mobility, and high visibility, this jacket is durable gear for tough conditions during long ocean crossings, made in a Fair Trade™ certified factory.

Features of the jacket

• Extremely durable shell made from 100% post-consumer recycled nylon NetPlus®, crafted from recycled fishing nets to help reduce plastic pollution in the oceans, with a smooth jersey backing to manage moisture, provide next-to-skin comfort, and enhance movement; the elbow, forearm, and rear hem panels will withstand years of heavy use
• A foldable hood with an integrated drawcord and laminated visor keeps the fit and shape, while the independent high collar blocks wind; an off-centre zipper reduces chin irritation
• Waterproof, two-way Vislon® zipper at the front centre, strong and easy to use
• Articulated sleeves with internal wrist gaskets prevent water access and secure with external hook-and-loop closures
• Adjustable hem that can be tightened for a waterproof seal or laid flat when not in use; drainage holes allow water to escape even when the hem is tightened
• Two secured zippered chest pockets with key clips and an internal storage pocket provide dry storage; two microfleece lined front pockets protect from the elements and keep hands warm; strategically placed reflective strips ensure visibility from all angles
