Front tyre compounds

One of the most distinctive features of the RACETEC™ RR SLICK is its versatility of use across a wide range of asphalt types and temperatures.
For this reason, the choice of compound for the front tyre should be made based on whether the rider prefers greater stability and precision when entering corners (K2 version) or if they prefer better feedback and an absolute feeling of grip (K1 version).
Predictability in racing tyres is the ability to alert the rider when grip is close to the limit. During heavy braking and lean angles, the rider will feel this warning in the form of a softening of handling combined with understeer due to front slip.
The ability to manage such a situation is a factor that contributes to making riders faster. The neutral characteristics of the RACETEC™ RR SLICK alert the rider when limits are approached, allowing them to have a greater feeling of control and therefore achieve better lap times.

Rear tyre compounds

As with the front tyre, the choice of version is based on the coefficient of friction of the asphalt (depending on the circuit or road race) and the temperature of the asphalt (with a threshold around 25/30°C).
An important aspect of the compound development has focused on performance consistency, across the type of use (mileage and/or laps) and weather conditions (thermal cycles).
The addition of specific resin in the compound formulations and the use of a specific mixing process allow the RACETEC™ RR SLICK to be used across different thermal cycles.

Handling and agility

The rear tyre of the RACETEC™ RR SLICK features a major evolution regarding dimensions with the enlargement of the 180 and 190 series.
The traditional Supersoft rear size, 180/55, has evolved to 180/60. Similarly, the traditional Superbike rear size (190/55) has evolved to 200/60.
The RACETEC™ RR SLICK presents a wider and sharper profile, resulting in a larger contact area at any lean angle. The profile accelerates the transition between a vertical position and leaning, meaning that the lean-in is faster and grip in corners comes on quicker during total lean angles.

All asphalt types, temperatures and settings

The RACETEC™ RR SLICK has been developed to provide great versatility across a wide range of motorcycles and allow for easier adjustments.
The multi-layer constructions of the rear tyre are very close to those of series hypersport machines, allowing for tyre pressures similar to those recommended by motorcycle manufacturers. This is an advantage that eases adjustments.
The compounds of the RACETEC™ RR SLICK are versatile and designed to adapt to different asphalt types in terms of rigidity as well as operating temperature.
