Discover the unparalleled performance of the motorcycle Wheel Metzeler Racetec, your ally for a safe and enjoyable ride.
The ROADTEC™ Scooter stands out for its extreme flexibility and versatility in varying weather, temperature, and road conditions, in urban environments and beyond.
Grip in all conditions
An improved rubber compound with a high silica content combined with an optimal groove and siping pattern enhances mechanical and chemical grip in all situations.
The shoulder compound features a higher percentage of silica for a better feeling of contact in corners, especially when wet.
The central tread is made of a silica and carbon black mix to improve high-speed stability, heat dispersion, and the balance between abrasion resistance and grip.
Versatility in all seasons
The high silica content provides maximum flexibility and versatility in a wide range of temperatures and road conditions, both in urban areas and much more.
The ROADTEC™ Scooter is therefore the ideal solution for all-season mobility, regardless of weather and temperature, offering excellent performance in all situations.
Superior handling and comfort
All structures of the ROADTEC™ Scooter are characterized by adaptive behaviour and a lightweight design that enhances manoeuvrability and riding comfort. Thanks to the innovative rounded profiles, the contact patch is short and wide, which, in addition to reducing consumption, increases wear uniformity and provides progressive handling and a sense of security in corners.
The increased ground contact area spreads the vehicle's weight and acceleration forces over a larger surface, reducing stress on the rubber and overheating.
Safety on wet and low-grip surfaces
The tread design of the ROADTEC™ Scooter is inspired by the award-winning ROADTEC™ 01 model, which now features sipes for optimal effectiveness on scooters.
This tread design has been developed to improve mechanical traction, with a clearly noticeable advantage during acceleration and braking.
The shape and layout greatly contribute to maximizing water evacuation and mechanical grip.
The ground contact area includes many grooves and rubber that simultaneously contact the road, improving mechanical grip, water evacuation, and the feeling of safety; it also ensures more rubber is in contact with the ground, particularly at mid-angle, allowing for better grip from the start of the lean.
The front tyre features many transverse grooves that grip the asphalt like individual elements, increasing the amount of water drained, while the short sipes oriented in the opposite direction improve stability and control during braking. The grooves also help to increase grip on low-grip surfaces and reduce warm-up time.
The rear tyre has wide and long sipes oriented oppositely that combine various effects: during acceleration, the grooves improve traction, especially on low-grip surfaces, and during braking, the sipes prevent lateral movement and increase stability.
