Are db killers removable? Altering the db killer welds or anti-tamper screws or removing the fitting is illegal for road use and non-compliant with EU directives; this is only possible for RACING use on tracks, and using the open version on the road is not compliant with public road traffic regulations.
WARNING: this item is approved for noise, the customer must check in advance whether the presence of the original catalyst or the GPR catalyst is necessary in their country to comply with road traffic regulations and to carry out the annual inspection.
You can use the kit for the official annual inspection.
Installation recommendations: GPR products are plug and play, but it is still recommended to install the products in a professional workshop; no claims will be accepted in case of incorrect installations.
The specific homologation certificate is provided, along with the installation instructions; each silencer carries the homologation code. In case of issues encountered during installation, it is mandatory to stop and suspend activity, and immediately request information and/or advice from customer service.
Is it limited to 95Db for Tyrol and Switzerland? No, but this limit is only required for local citizens and not for tourists.
It is mandatory to use the KTM race card. No structural modifications to the motorcycle are required for installation to use the product in an approved version. It is recommended to read the instructions in the package or the visible tutorials on YouTube.
The exhaust has a removable db killer (noise limiter) for use in races; removing the db killer is not ONLY illegal, but the customer assumes the responsibility of using the motorcycle as on the track only, without a bag, without a flashlight, and without a number plate holder or other parts that might interfere with the different gas angle due to the transformation into race version. Abuse of this situation on the road will lead to the loss of product warranty. From the date of purchase, there is a right to repair with return to the GPR factory or the nearest official distributor at the customer's expense.
GPR cannot provide a new silencer in place of the one to be repaired; the customer must agree to reassemble the original exhaust or wait the standard time for the repair.
