The diffuser helps to renew the oxygen present in the aquarium and enriches the water with oxygen. Adding oxygen is recommended for sparsely planted aquariums or those with a high fish population. It’s also suitable for cold water and saltwater aquariums or for keeping oxygen-hungry fish. Additionally, if a lid limits the air space above the water's surface, it’s a good idea to provide supplemental air. Otherwise, the oxygen in that area would be quickly depleted.
