Instead of standard grease lubrication, the bearings contain an oil-filled polymer matrix. This technology SKF, called Solid Oil, is particularly suitable for bearings used in environments likely to be heavily exposed to dirt, dust and water.

The polymer material is molded into the bearing clearance, forming a very small space around the rolling elements and raceways, allowing the bearing to rotate freely. The structure porous polymer matrix, with its millions of micropores, retains lubricating oil through its surface tension. During operation, oil is released into the narrow spaces between the material and the bearing components, providing effective microlubrication.
